Ask Emma |
Good morning fellow quilters. Debbie has agreed to let me try out my idea for a new column. If you have any questions about the shop, quilting, embroidery, or sewing in general, you can send me an email [click on my mailbox below] and I will do my best to answer your question. July 25, 2009 Dear Emma: As shop diva and quilter extraordinaire, I wonder how you find time to finish your ufo's? I recently moved and wonder how you would organize your fabric and sewing room? Would you sort fabric by color or type. By type I mean 30's repros together, civil war together etc. or by color? Look forward to hearing from you. Miss you all, hope to see soon. Love, Hope Dear Hope:
It is good to hear from you. We have missed seeing you at the shop.
Upon reading your question, I immediately decided that I would decide by
texture - dividing it out by what I would like to lay down and rest my
head on. Silky, soft, cuddly, too rough (throw it out), etc.
Well.....to make a short story shorter - I was booed by the girls for that
one. And a lot of help they are - everyone had a different method to
share. All that aside, I think you are on to a plan - if there is a
theme involved store them together and all the rest sort by colors.
Your friend, Emma. |
